Semester Final - Social Justice and Peace in the World

"We Educate for and Act on Behalf of Justice and Peace in the World"

This NDB Hallmark is an issue we all should care deeply about. What does it stand for?  What does it mean - social justice and peace?  How would you "advertise" this in a poster, looking for a reaction, a solution., even one step in the right direction? Your final for the semester is to do just that.  You will be creating a poster that demonstrates a strong, personal belief you have about Hallmark 3.
The assignment:
1.  What issue will you photograph?  Make certain it is a compelling one.
2.  Write and submit on your blog your justification, your questions and arguments or the issue you have selected.  What would you like your viewers to react to, respond to, think about?
3.  Final due date:  December 20/21

Assignment 8 - What are they thinking?

Photographer: Brno Del Zou

In this assignment you'll be using your creative imagination to envision what someone is thinking (or what you THINK they're thinking).  You'll be capturing a portrait - my advice is to think about a great studio shot where you have control over the lighting - and digitally "opening" the image to see inside this person's mind.  What are they really thinking about?  You must take the portrait as a separate final image but you may use SOME found images (giving correct credit), text, objects, etc.  Your final composition should be portfolio ready.  Consider this for Scholastic...just a thought.

Due November 22, end of class.
